The diverse geography of Veracruz provides an ideal playground of whitewater rivers. Rain from tropical rainforests and countless springs upwelling from porous limestone bedrock fill the rivers almost year round. Some rivers start on high mountain peaks, the highest is the majestic, glacier-capped Pico de Orizaba at 18,600 feet. Rivers flowing from these mountains have carved deep canyons adorned with lush, tropical vegetation and small crystalline waterfalls that cascade down from canyon rims.

The steeper canyon runs are remote and technical, and challenge the skills of even very experienced paddlers. Where the gradient lets up, the wild rivers gradually become tamer and the scenery, while not so rugged is still beautiful. Canyon walls give way to lush agricultural valleys where pre-Colombian peoples built their sacred cities. These ruined cities can still be seen and explored along the banks of some of the rivers.

On the easier sections, beginners and intermediates can gain confidence and develop new skills at countless rapids and playspots surrounded by the picturesque scenery.  Our experienced and friendly guide/instructors are ready to show you the beautiful secluded rivers or teach you the latest whitewater techniques.
